Covington, OH United Church of Christ faced the dilemma of a $175,000 repair bill for their 100+ year old pipe organ by looking outside the box. A new two-manual 33-stop Allen Protege digital organ was chosen to meet the need.

- The console of the new Allen has all of the conveniences expected by contemporary organists……an 8-memory capture action, divided Swell and Great divisions, crescendo pedal, complete MIDI with 256 voices, and a built in hymn player feature.

- Nine new Allen speakers were installed in the old organ chambers. Allen’s Herald speakers assure even distribution of sound throughout the sanctuary and the adjoining overflow room.

- The Great / Pedal division speakers are faced at forward angles, while the Swell division speakers were installed in the old organ’s Swell division, reflecting off the back wall and ceiling to provide distinctions between Great and Swell division voices.

- We retained the look and feel of the old pipe organ be re-using the facade pipes from the original instrument.
